Tarbet Lighthouse is the third tallest in Scotland. Built by Robert Stevenson, it was first operational in 1830. It stands on a headland northeast of Portmahomack that separates the Dornoch Firth from the Moray Firth. According to Highland folklore, the site of this lighthouse was used as a meeting place for a witches’ coven, and before that, it used to be a Roman Fort.
